Sr. Yulita Marie Nanik Wijiyati, as provincial superior, opens the chapter on the 10th of May 2010. In her opening speech she emphasizes the aim of chapter is to discuss the future direction of the province for coming 6 years. It means the chapter members are invited actively to discuss the recommendations of the sisters in the province into policies. By using "Dynamic Pastoral Method" the sisters in the province are involved in the process of chapter. The material discussions for the chapter come from the real situation of the province and it already discussed by all sisters in the province via working groups, community, region day meetings. She hopes based on the theme of the chapter we get inspirations to move on together in one spirit as chapter community for achieving the purpose of congregation: "a new society in which the full of equality of people is central".

EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION
On the 10th of May Father Hari Kustanto SJ and Father Norbert Halsema SJ led the Eucharist to open the provincial chapter phase I at 08.00 O'clock in the chapel of Mother House - Probolinggo.

At 08.00 O'clock, the chapter members celebrate Holy Mass to open the provincial chapter phase I led by Father Hari Kustanto, SJ and Father Norbert Halsema, SJ. At 10.00 o'clock the chapter is opened by Sr. Yulita Marie as Provincial Superior of SPM Indonesia. The opening session, it was talked about Guideline booklet of the chapter and the organisation, the symbols and theme of the chapter and read some letters among other letters from Malawi. General Council, Zr. Annette Schoon and Jember I community.
At 17.00 - 19.00: starting discussion in small groups with topic item about community life.

This morning at 08.00 - 10.00 is plenary. The groups report about Formation paper that has been talked in small groups. At 10.30-12.30 the chapter members continue their discussion about Mission on Educational field. The result of the groups is presented at 17.00 - 19.00.

Today is "Ancession day". The Holy Mass is at 06.00 - 07.15. This morning the meeting is started at 08.30 with the topic item about Mission on Social fields (working in small groups) and the plenary session is at 11.00 - 12.30. The session about finance is talked at 17.00 - 19.00.

Today the chapter has plenary session with topic item about Juridical and Financial. Then the session of Leadership and the future of Indonesian Province is brought into discussion at 11.30 - 12.30. The plenary would be done at 17.00 - 19.00.
Saturday, May 15th, 2010
At the end of the first week, 3 briefly topics are discussed in one session namely Internationality, Communication, The Future of the Congregation and "Kerabat SPM" (Associated members). At 10.30 - 12.30 all groups are ready to present their results. After lunch, the participants have free agenda till Sunday evening.
Sunday, May 16th, 2010.
Today the participants enjoy their free time. The group of Sr. Theresien goes to Sariwani near by Bromo. The other group together with Sr. Yulita goes to "Bentar". Some of others go home till Sunday evening and the rest take time for relaxing after full days meeting. Here we also like to care our "balance".
Monday, May 17th, 2010
Today the agenda item of meeting is Report of Financial that is presented by Sr. Lucia. We feel the atmosphere of this session is good. We, as chapter community, together discuss the topics seriously and with full of responsibility. From the report we realise how important to have a good administration how to deal with our money and goods in connecting with our vows. " ... we freely forego the right independently to use and dispose of material goods. We live simply, relating to our possesions as if we have no possessions..." (Constitutions pg. 53 no. 3).

Today the participants works in ad hoc commissions to reformulate their paper based on the response of other groups. The revision papers are discussed in plenary session in the afternoon 10.30 - 12.30. At 17.00 - 19.00 we works in mixing group to decide which items that should be recomedated for general chapter. In the evening formulation team works hard and full of spirit to re-formulate the papers.

We feel the days of meeting almost at the end of chapter process. The participants indeed appreciate the formulation team who work hard to finish the paper. In the morning plenary session, the participants exemine and take decision about the items that would be brought for general chapter. The steering committee has a briefly meeting to look at the rest agenda for today. After having 9 intensive days, finally Father N. Halsema gives announcement that afternoon session today is free. The meeting will be continued tomorrow. The participants was so happy. We have big concerned about some sisters and two chapter members are sick of 'demam berdarah".

Today, all working groups have finished their chapter papers, therefore Sr. Yulita as the chairwoman closed this first phase chapter two (2) days earlier than the schedule on 22nd May. Sr. Yulita thanks to all chapter members, facilitator, discussion leader, secretary and her staff and all the involved person for running the chapter well. Then Sr. Theresien closed this day with prayer at 12.30. Proficiat!
The second phase of Indonesian provincial chapter would be carried out on the 13th till 20th of December 2010.
